Khem, I have TOOLCHAIN = "clang" in my local.conf file and was not seeing this error. Is this perhaps riscv specific? I ask because I built core-image-minimal-xfce with raspberry PI 5 target as an arm 64 build. Thanks, Jason. Khem, I'm still not seeing the problem on an Arm target. So I will move to a riscv target to see if I can at least reproduce what you are seeing. I did find this which provides a work around. I was, after getting my layers straightened out, able to reproduce the problem. The problem appears with the clang compiler and not with gcc. It does not appear to be target specific. I was able to generate it on ARM. It turns out to be a known issue and was addressed in newer releases of the libxfce4ui package. You should find on the mailing list a patch to go to version 4.19.6.
